We are an independently owned dental practice providing general dentistry on both an NHS and private basis to patients predominately from the West Wiltshire area. A dental practice has operated at 33 Market Place Melksham for many decades providing care to many generations of patients.
In 2008 the practice was purchased by its current owner, Raija Frampton. During the last 3 years the practice has seen considerable investment in the decor of the building, the facilities for patients and new equipment. In early 2011 a new private suite was opened to which consists of two state of the art surgeries, a new waiting room and a new decontamination room to meet recently introduced regulatory requirements. As part of this programme of improvements a full upgrade of the reception area and downstairs waiting area is scheduled for early 2012.
The practice has not only improved the practice building but has introduced new services following feedback from patients. The practice is and will remain predominantly NHS with new patients being welcomed to the practice every month. However, many patients expressed their desire to access private treatments through a monthly payment plan. In early 2011 a flexible plan was introduced into the practice costing £15 for those wishing the exercise their right to access private treatment. A further development has been the introduction of dental implants into the practice. Previously patients were referred to other practices in either Bath or Bristol for this type of treatment. Many patients found travelling inconvenient and time consuming and following this feedback we have now introduced this service into our practice.
